What uses a credit
Most transactions never touch AI because rules and memory categorize them first — for free. After your first month of rules, 500 credits covers far more than 500 transactions.

We never hold your books hostage
In any subscription state — including canceled — you can export all your data as a CSV bundle from Settings › Export. Transactions, chart of accounts, journal entries, rules, everything. No gating, no support ticket required.

No credit card. You get 500 AI credits to finish your first books the same day. Upload a statement once, or connect a bank if you want new activity to keep showing up. Subscribe to keep AI and optional bank sync after the 3-day window.
Bookkeeping continues uninterrupted. You can still import, manually categorize, use rules, post journal entries, and run all reports and exports. Only AI categorization and PDF extraction pause until you buy more credits. You can purchase a credit pack at any time for $10 per 100 credits.
No. After cancellation you retain read-only access and can export all your data — transactions, chart of accounts, journal entries, and rules — as a CSV bundle at any time from Settings › Export. We never hold your books hostage.
Billing is per workspace, not per user. Each client entity is its own workspace with its own subscription. As a bookkeeper, you'd have one Bookkipa account with unlimited workspace access — your clients each pay for their own subscription, or you manage billing centrally.
Cash basis means revenue is recognised when received and expenses when paid — no accounts receivable or payable. The 'modified' part adds practical adjustments that make the balance sheet useful: loans are recorded as liabilities, credit card balances are tracked, and fixed assets above $2,500 can be capitalized. This is a legitimate AICPA-recognized framework, and every statement includes a plain-language basis note.
No. Monthly plan credits (500/month) expire at the end of your billing period. Annual plan credits (6,000 up front) and purchased credit packs expire 24 months from grant. The monthly credits always get consumed first, so your paid credits are protected.
Yes. You can switch at any time through the Stripe customer portal. Switching to annual credits 6,000 credits immediately on the next invoice. Proration is handled automatically by Stripe.
